A l’occasion de la Semaine de la Biodiversité, l’inspection forestière de la commune de Zè a lancé une série d’activités de reboisement sur plusieurs sites stratégiques de la commune. Parmi les sites choisis, la forêt sacrée d’Anavié, située au sein de la Zone Industrielle de Glo-Djigbé (GDIZ), s’est imposée comme un lieu symbolique pour accueillir l’événement.
Le vendredi 23 mai 2025, en présence du chef de village, des chefs religieux, des membres du département ESG (Environnement, Social et Gouvernance) de la GDIZ et de l’inspection forestière de la commune de Zè, 80 plants ont été mis en terre, notamment :
* Adansonia digitata – Baobab
* Milicia excelsa – Iroko
* Ceiba pentandra – Fromager blanc
Ce reboisement marque un engagement concret en faveur de la préservation de la biodiversité et du patrimoine naturel dans un espace industriel en pleine expansion.
‘’Reboiser la forêt sacrée d’Anavié, au cœur même d’une Zone Industrielle, c’est prouver que développement économique et protection de la biodiversité peuvent avancer ensemble. Chaque arbre planté est le symbole d’une industrialisation responsable et durable’’ a déclaré M. Charles Zannou, responsable de l’inspection forestière de la commune de Zè.
Cette initiative illustre l’ambition de la GDIZ de concilier développement industriel et durabilité environnementale.
sacred forest of Anavié: GDIZ hosts a reforestation initiative
As part of Biodiversity Week, the Forestry Inspection Department of the commune of Zè launched a series of reforestation activities across several strategic sites. Among the selected locations, the sacred forest of Anavié, located within Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ), stood out as a meaningful site to host the event.
On Friday, May 23, 2025, in the presence of the village chief, religious leaders, members of GDIZ’s ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) department, and the commune of Zè Forestry Inspection team, a total of 80 trees were planted, including:
* Adansonia digitata – Baobab
* Milicia excelsa – Iroko
* Ceiba pentandra – Kapok tree
This reforestation initiative represents a tangible commitment to preserving biodiversity and protecting natural heritage within an expanding Industrial Zone.
“Reforesting the sacred forest of Anavié, right at the heart of an Industrial Zone, is proof that economic development and biodiversity conservation can move forward together. Each tree planted is a symbol of responsible and sustainable industrialisation,” said Mr Charles Zannou, Head of the Forestry Inspection of Zè.
This initiative reflects GDIZ’s broader ambition to align industrial growth with long-term environmental sustainability.
